Cookies and browser storage

What keeps the site working

These are needed for the site to do what you ask of it.

• Your language: a cookie remembering French, Arabic or English, kept for a year.
• Your session: when you sign in, the browser keeps your sign-in token until you sign out or it expires.
• A random device identifier, which helps keep accounts banned for fraud from coming back.

What makes it easier to use

Kept only in your browser, never sent to anyone else.

• The listings you viewed recently, so you can go back to them, and which results you opened or hid. Signing out clears all three.
• Whether you prefer search results as a list or as a grid.

Measuring visits

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, so we know what to improve. It sets its own cookies (named _ga). We do not use it for advertising, and it is not told who you are.

Removing them

Your browser’s settings let you see and delete cookies and site data at any time. Doing so signs you out and resets your language; nothing else is lost, since your saved homes and alerts are kept with your account.
